Wales Real Living Wage uplift

The Welsh Government has announced approximately £70 million in annual funding to implement the Real Living Wage of £10.90 per hour in social care.

This is a part of the Wales Budget to prioritise the protection of frontline public services.

The uplift will apply to registered workers in care homes and domiciliary care (in adult and children’s services), as well as personal assistants funded through direct payments.

The Welsh Government says it intends to provide the funding to local authorities and health boards in Wales by June 2023, so they can implement the Real Living Wage uplift.
