Union founder dismissed

Major Polish IT company Sii Polska has dismissed an employee who established a union in the business.

Company president Gregoire Nitot dismissed Krystian Kosowski shortly after he had set up a union and asked other employees to join. Nitot said the dismissal was unconnected to Kosowski’s union activities, but it came just a week after the union was founded. And the e-mail sacking him stated that the company “does not need [a] trade union”.

Kosowski plans to seek reinstatement through the courts.
