Food manufacturing workers balloting
150 workers employed by animal feed and nutritional product manufacturer AB AGRI are being balloted for strike action over pay.
The workers, based at mills in Suffolk, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Fife, Devon, Lincolnshire and East and North Yorkshire, are members of Unite and have rejected a 4.5% pay rise as a significant real terms pay cut. The union is also balloting a further 200 workers based at food manufacturer Devro (Scotland) which makes products like sausage casings, again in a dispute over pay.
