Glasgow aviation workers win 11% rise

Ground services crew employed by Menzies Aviation at Glasgow Airport have accepted a new one-year pay deal worth 11% on basic pay.

Over 200 workers, including dispatchers, allocators, airside agents and controllers voted 82% in favour of the deal, which was described by their union, Unite, as “excellent”.

The increase will be backdated to January this year and follows a 9.1% rise won last year. Other enhancements include a rise in overtime rate to time and a half, increased holiday entitlement and the introduction of a sick pay scheme after six months service which Menzies Aviation said it would explore in May 2022.
