Correction: general secretary

In Union News in the December 2024 issue of Labour Research, we incorrectly stated that Andy Gilchrist had been re-elected as general secretary of the POA Prison Officers Association.

This should have said that Steve Gillan had been re-elected as general secretary of the POA. Steve Gillan won a further five-year term as general secretary of the 32,000-strong POA.

Andy Gilchrist served as general secretary of the FBU firefighters’ union from 2000 to 2005.
