CWU slams ‘DH Hell’
The CWU communications union has labelled a DHL Parcels UK depot in Manchester a “DH Hell” after reporting that a third of the workforce have tested positive for Covid-19. It says the company allegedly failed to enforce government regulations at the Trafford Park site.
CWU general secretary Dave Ward, Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham and local Labour MP Kate Green raised their concerns with DHL. The union says the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been called in to look at a range of measures to protect employees.
