Italian unions sign public sector pact
The three Italian union confederations and the Italian government have agreed a pact to strengthen public administration, which aims to use some of the resources available under the national recovery plan to improve the public sector.
As well as including a promise to speed up negotiations on the current round of pay increases, the pact includes plans to negotiate on new ways of working, including greater remote working and to adapt pay systems to current needs. The government also commits to greater protection for trade union rights.
The pact has been welcomed by the unions.
