Period dignity victory

The PCS public and commercial services union has reported “a massive victory” after the DWP department for work and pensions began to receive free period products for staff. This was “down to the persistence, unwavering commitment, and hard graft” of members, equality advisory committees and its national ruling bodies. The union says period products should be free in workplace toilets just like toilet paper and soap. Its call for period dignity is about “smashing the stigma and breaking the silence”.
