Pensions Regulator imposes pay settlement

The PCS civil service union entered into talks through Acas last month with a view to resolving the long-running dispute with The Pensions Regulator (TPR) over its failure to pay more than a 3% pay increase this year. The union and its members were seeking to persuade the regulator to pay some of its £1.5 million bonus pot as “proper pay” to achieve parity with other civil service employers. PCS members in TPR, who took two weeks' strike action in September, started another period of four weeks of action in October and November due to the employer’s refusal to pay 4.5% with an extra 0.5% directed at the lowest paid .
