Musicians want their 10% back
Musicians in the Royal Opera House orchestra are campaigning for a return of a 10% pay cut they took in 2020 to help the company through Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. In cash terms the Musicians’ Union says they are now paid less now than in 2015. Their action short of a strike won backing from over 2,500 members of the public through an online petition. To draw attention to their fight, the orchestra wore yellow #FairPay t-shirts instead of their usual concert dress during a September performance.
