Delegation marks Battle of Jarama

A Scottish trade union delegation travelled to Spain to commemorate the February 1937 Battle of Jarama, which took place during the Spanish Civil War, and the role of the International Brigades and their volunteers in fighting facism.

Edinburgh Trade Union Council secretary Des Loughney told Labour Research: “We had a special reason for going as this year we were commemorating those Scottish volunteers who were killed in the Battle”.
