Italian unions call for health and safety pact

Leaders of Italy’s three union confederations have called for a “pact on occupational health and safety” in response to a worsening health and safety situation across the country.

In 2020, 650,000 people suffered an accident at work and there were 1,270 fatalities. The unions plan to devote a week each month to health and safety issues at workplace level.
