Dutch metalworkers get 9% over 19 months

Unions and employers have reached agreement on above inflation pay increases in the metalworking and electrical industries. The staged agreement runs from 1 June 2024 until 31 December 2025 and provides for three separate increases: 2.75% on 1 June 2024, 3.25% on 1 January 2025 and 3.0% on 1 June 2025.

With inflation in the Netherlands currently at 2.7% (May), the deal provides a real terms increase. It covers around 170,000 employees in 1,100 companies and is seen as a significant pointer to settlements elsewhere.
