RCN leader

The RCN nursing union has appointed Professor Nicola Ranger as its new permanent general secretary and chief executive after she had acted in the post for a brief period.

Her appointment follows the departure of Pat Cullen, who resigned earlier in the summer to stand as a Sinn Fein candidate in the general election in which she won the Fermanagh and South Tyrone seat.
