Inflation slows again

Inflation’s slowing trend continued, with Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation (the preferred measure of union negotiators) at 3.0% for the 12 months to May, down from 3.3% in the 12 months to April.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 2.0% in the same period, down from 2.8%, while the Consumer Prices Index, with a housing element (CPIH) rose by 2.8%, down from 3%.
