Compensation

The NASUWT teachers’ union won compensation totalling £14,292,313.90 for members during 2023, it has announced. The figure includes compensation of £150,000 for a teacher who suffered physical injuries and emotional trauma after being headbutted and punched by a pupil.

The union took legal action after his employer denied liability for the incident and the injuries suffered.
