Spanish unions sign ceramics deal

Unions from Spain's two main union confederations, CCOO and the UGT, have signed a two-year deal with the employers' association representing companies which produce tiles and paving. The settlement provides for a 3.5% backdated increase for 2023, and a 2.5% increase for 2024 backdated to 1 January. In addition, working time is cut by eight hours a year. The 2024 pay increase is below current inflation and the recommendations in last year's framework agreement between unions and employers, but unions have expressed their satisfaction with the outcome.
