Latest recognition wins

Unite has won its claim for collective bargaining rights on behalf of 262 tanker delivery drivers employed by WFL UK across the UK, after an overwhelming vote in favour by workers. The agreed bargaining unit, which, covers 45 sites, includes those depot operations managers who also perform delivery duties.

The Central Arbitration Committee had ordered a ballot of the workers concerned, of whom 205 took part. A huge 95% of them voted in favour of Unite recognition, constituting 73% of the bargaining unit.

Meanwhile, Unite has come to a voluntary “landmark” recognition agreement with independent cinema Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT). It is the first cinema in Scotland to sign a voluntary recognition agreement with Unite Hospitality, which represents GFT’s front of house and cleaning teams.
