Attack on union subs

Unions in Hungary are protesting against a government plan under which public sector employers will no longer be required to collect union subscriptions from employees’ wages. The proposal was published without previous consultation with the unions.

Hungary’s five main union confederations point out that employers in the private sector are required to collect union subscriptions from their employees, and that to act differently in relation to the public sector is discriminatory.
