‘Brexit Bill’ back in the House of Lords

More than two-thirds (68%) of businesses think the “Brexit Bill”, the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill will cause more uncertainty for UK businesses.

And almost two-thirds (63%) think it will restrict their access to trade markets.

These are among the findings of a new YouGov poll for Unchecked UK — which campaigns for “sensible, properly-enforced protections” — the Women’s Institute, the RoSPA safety charity, the Wildlife Trusts and the RSPB nature conservation body.

The Bill is scheduled to reach report stage in the House of Lords later this month where peers will be able to scrutinise the legislation and make changes.

Unchecked UK says a “sunset” clause in the Bill means “whole swathes of legislation will be struck from the statute book altogether at the end of this year, unless specifically saved by a government minister”.
