Austrian Airlines staff recover lost ground

A settlement for around 3,500 Austrian Airlines flight deck and cabin crew employees restores some of the pay they were losing in a long-term cost-cutting deal agreed in 2020. Under the terms of this deal pay was due to be 12.7% lower in 2023 than in 2020. However, as a result of a new agreement between the airline and the union Vida, the pay reduction will be just 4.7% from January next year and will be eliminated completely from June 2023. Inflation in Austria is currently 10.5% (September).
