Czech health plans rejected

Czech health unions have rejected a suggestion by health minister Vlastimil Válek that the government should consider allowing people to pay extra for better healthcare.

Union delegates, meeting at a two-day conference on 10-11 November, passed a resolution opposing “the commercialisation of healthcare … [and] the creation of different types of health and social care for the rich and poor”.
