Royal Mail workers to strike on Black Friday

The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) has announced the next two strike dates for its members at Royal Mail: 24 and 25 November, which coincides with the “Black Friday” online shopping day, and then on 30 November and 1 December.

Last week the CWU held its eighth strike in the current dispute (see previous issues). It reported: “from Penzance to Wick, from Coleraine to Colchester, 115,000 postal workers the length and breadth of the nation show[ed] their unity, strength, resilience and defiance once again, taking the total number of days lost to industrial action in 2022 – in total CWU strikes – to 1.252 million.

“At Westminster, arrogant and out of touch politicians once again ignored the people and chose another unelected prime minister, but here in the real world, CWU members proved their fighting spirit at picket lines in every corner of the country.”
