Strikers at homelesness charity win better deal
Over 600 workers at the Shelter homelessness charity have seen their commitment to industrial action result in a much improved pay offer. After two weeks of strike action in December, and talks mediated by Acas, the charity more than doubled its offer to staff to 7% plus an additional one-off payment of £1,250.
Unite regional officer Peter Storey said: “Unite has emerged from the dispute far stronger at Shelter and it is determined to ensure that members will continue to receive fair pay awards in the future.”
