Firm offers public holiday choice

In a bid to extend flexible working practices, the Deloitte professional services company says its UK employees can now choose when to take their public holidays.

The firm’s 22,000 staff will be able to work bank holidays (including Christmas Day), but take an extra day off another time.

Jackie Henry, Deloitte’s managing partner for people, said staff would still be entitled to take public holidays on the days they fall if they wished.

She added that the company’s new approach “means that our people can choose to take public holiday leave on the dates that are most meaningful to them”.
