STUC's Grahame Smith backs second independence referendum


Retiring Scottish TUC general secretary Grahame Smith has called on the labour movement in Scotland to support a second independence referendum.


The Herald newspaper, quoting from a forthcoming issue of Scottish Left Review, said Smith stops short of endorsing independence, but says the Scottish Labour party and unions have “nothing to fear and much to gain” from considering what leaving the UK could look like.
