General secretaries

The RMT transport union has confirmed that Mick Cash has been elected as its new general secretary, having won the contest against four other candidates.

Cash had served as the union’s acting general secretary since the untimely death of predecessor Bob Crow in March this year.

In September, Fire Brigades Union leader Matt Wrack was re-elected to the position unopposed for a third term.
