Union scoops award 


The Usdaw retail union’s Freedom from Fear campaign, which aims to improve the personal safety of workers, has been recognised by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. 


The trust, which campaigns to reduce the risk of violence, has awarded the union a National Personal Safety Award. The award celebrates the work being done across the UK to keep people safe from violence and aggression and recognises best practice across all sectors.


“We are honoured to have received an award from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust for our Freedom From Fear campaign,” said Usdaw general secretary John Hannett.” All too often shopworkers encounter violence, threats and abuse for simply doing their job.”
