Concern over missing pension contributions

Unite members at transport firm XPO Logistics UK are considering the possibility of strike action, concerned about why the pension contributions of some employees have apparently not been credited to their “pension pots”.

Unite national officer Matt Draper said: “We know that three times in the last nine months some people have had their pension contributions deducted, but the monies have not been credited to their pension pots.” These problems seemed to have arisen since the company moved to a new payroll provider.

The union doesn’t know how many of its nearly 3,000 members in the UK have been affected. Company executives have said they are working with anyone affected and aiming to stop this reoccurring, but the union wants “cast-iron guarantees” this won’t happen again.
