MBE for BME firefighter


Michael Nicholas, secretary of the FBU Fire Brigades Union’s black and ethnic minority members’ section, has been awarded an MBE in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List. 


He is the first black FBU official to receive the award, made for services to the fire brigade and to the black and ethnic minority community in London.
