Stanistreet takes maternity leave

National Union of Journalists’ leader Michelle Stanistreet has become the first union general secretary in the UK ever to take maternity leave while in post, according to the union. Her baby is due in March. 


The union’s Irish secretary, Seamus Dooley, will undertake the role of acting general secretary during her absence.
