Boost to recognition in energy

A joint recognition deal has been agreed between energy regulator Ofgem and the PCS and FDA civil service unions.

The agreement allows union reps to “floor-walk” to talk to members and potential members and means the management will promote the union in the workplace. It also allows either side to send a dispute to the Acas conciliation and arbitration service and provides for paid time off for attending the unions’ annual delegate conferences.

Meanwhile, the GMB general union has been granted recognition on behalf of 99 industrial workers at Engie Services, trading as Workplace Solutions, at two Nottinghamshire power stations. A ballot was conducted, which resulted in 94.7% of those voting, and 54.5% of those eligible, supporting GMB recognition.
