Senior civil servants

The government has refused to accept in full all of the recommendations of the Senior Salaries Review Body, echoing its approach this year to other review body groups.

The review body wanted all senior civil service members to receive a 1% consolidated basic pay increase.

However, the government says it will continue to give departments flexibility to target an overall 1% award “at the individual level”, and will give 2% plus a 0.5% non-consolidated one-off payment (rather than the recommended 2.5%) to senior military officers. Other parts of the recommendations were accepted.
