Italian public sector pay rise edges closer
The Italian government has taken a further step towards the increase in pay in the public sector, which it promised last November (see Workplace Report, December 2016, page 8).
The government has approved a decree providing the €2.4 billion necessary to pay the first stage of the promised increase.
The next step in the process is to authorise the official government agency, ARAN, to open negotiations with the union confederations.
