Inflation rebounds

Inflation rebounded in June. Under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), the annual rate of inflation was back up to 2.6% from 2.4% in May.

The main upward pressure came from clothing and footwear. There was also upward pressure from food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Under the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) — the measure generally used by the government — inflation was back up to 1.9% in June from 1.5% the previous month.
