Pay settlements post 2% increase

Pay settlement show a 2.0% increase, according to the latest figures from Labour Research Department’s Payline database.

The median (midpoint) pay increase was the same across all sectors, while the annual increase was also 2.0%. When the median is weighted by the number of workers covered by agreements and then the annual increase rises to 2.1%.

The latest figures on the Payline database for settlements in the three months to April show freezes now make up 12.9% of all deals — 18 freezes out of 139 settlements. In the three months to March freezes comprised 22.5% of settlements.

Provisional figures for the three months to May show the proportion of freezes is so far 12.3% (17 freezes out of 138 deals), with no freezes so far registered on Payline for the month of May.
