Recognition successes

Unions continue to rack up recognition successes. Shop and distribution workers’ union Usdaw has won recognition at the Andover site of the meat processing company Randall Parker Foods.

Out of 141 workers eligible to vote, 79 workers supported recognition for collective bargaining purposes, that is, 56% of the bargaining unit comprising non-managerial employees.

The Unite general union was successful in a recognition ballot at Fowler Welch — Coolchain Ltd for a bargaining unit of warehouse staff and drivers employed at the firm’s depot on the Pattinson North Industrial Estate, Washington, Tyne and Wear.

Sixty-nine out of 136 workers eligible to vote supported the recognition proposal, accounting for 51% of the bargaining unit.
