New group to focus on workplace rights

Labour Party-affiliated unions have joined Andy McDonald MP to found a new taskforce that aims to develop Labour’s agenda on workplace rights.

In its opening statement, the new group – which is called Recover and Rebuild: Power in the Workplace – said it “will set out a shared vision for a new deal for working people which will detail how workers can be collectively and individually empowered to ensure that every worker is entitled to fair pay, job security, dignity at work and work-life-balance, safety at work, and to help Britain recover and rebuild from the virus.”

The group includes representatives from ASLEF, BFAWU, Community, CWU, FBU, GMB, Musicians’ Union, NUM, TSSA, UNISON, Unite, and Usdaw.
