‘Workers win’ as airport dedicates terminal to red list arrivals

General union the GMB is claiming a win for aviation workers after Heathrow airport set aside Terminal 3 as a dedicated terminal for arrivals from higher risk red list countries.

It says the move came after it publicly called for a change, after workers claimed that the situation had “gone ballistic” as soon as the UK opened its borders to India.

Nadine Houghton GMB’s national aviation officer said: “Only yesterday the GMB released a statement on the risk at Heathrow as red list passengers mixed with amber and green list travellers.

“Today Heathrow has done the right thing and provided a dedicated arrivals area at T3 for red list travellers.”
