TikTok promises unions action on online abuse
Teaching unions the ASCL and NAHT have met with representative of TikTok after complaining about “disgraceful and defamatory” posts about teachers on the social media platform.
In a joint statement following the meeting the unions' general secretaries said: “We met with TikTok today and were pleased to have a constructive discussion focused on finding both immediate and long-term solutions to addressing the horrendous abuse of teachers that has featured in posts on the platform over the past two weeks.”
