T&G to elect new number two

A new deputy general secretary at Britain's third largest union - the T&G general union - will be elected this month. There are two candidates - national organiser Peter Booth and national secretary Tony Woodley.

The outcome could have a longer term significance as the union's general secretary, Bill Morris, is due to retire in October 2003.
