Inflation remains constant

Higher gas and electricity bills offset by cheaper food kept inflation, under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), steady at 4.1% in February.

Meanwhile, inflation under the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs and is the government’s preferred measure, was up to 2.5% in February from 2.2% in January. As with the RPI higher energy bill were again the main factor.
