Polish occupation

Polish unions are protesting against government plans to cut early retirement benefits for 760,000 workers. Under the current rules, about one million Poles have a right to retire early, including railway and energy workers.

In November, members of Sierpien 80, one of the smaller union groupings, occupied the prime minister’s office in protest. Other unions are also contesting the proposals.
