Blacklisting

Construction union UCATT won a delay in the implementation of the blacklisting regulations as Labour Research went to press. The regulations were laid before Parliament last month and were due to be scrutinised by the Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments on 20 January.

However, the committee agreed to delay ratification for a week after UCATT got in touch with members to outline the ways in which the proposed regulations are deficient and would fail to make blacklisting a criminal offence.
