BA deal

Unite cabin crew members are expected to give strong backing to their union’s recommendation to accept the latest offer put to them by airline BA.

The ballot was drawing to a close as Labour Research went to press, and the widely anticipated Yes vote will end one of the longest industrial disputes in the transport sector for years.

The offer reinstates travel concessions removed from cabin crew who took part in the strikes last year and proposes a two-year pay deal worth up to 7.5% (4% this year and 3.5% next year).

Conciliation service Acas has also been called in to arbitrate on disciplinary action taken against dozens of Unite members.
