Inflation falls on both measures

The rate of inflation fell on both the main measures last month, according to the Office for National Statistics. Under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), inflation was down to 5.0% in June compared to 5.2% the previous month.

Under the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), the fall in the inflation rate was greater, registering at 4.2% — down from 4.5% in May.
