Inflation falls on both measures

The latest inflation figures contained some good news for the government.

Inflation fell sharply on both main measures in June. Under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), the annual inflation rate was down to 2.8% from 3.2% in May. The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) posted a similar fall with inflation down to 2.4% in June from 2.8% the previous month.
