Household wealth gap revealed

The net wealth of all households was estimated by the Office for National Statistics to be £10.3 trillion between 2008-10. But the richest 10% of households owned 44% of that total, or £4.5 trillion.

In contrast, the bottom half of households had a combined wealth of £1 trillion or just 10% of total wealth. So the wealth of the richest 10% was over four times that of the bottom half of households.
