Inflation lowest for a year

Inflation hit its lowest level for over a year. The annual rate of inflation — as measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) — was down to 2.6% in October from 3.2% in September. The October rate is the lowest since September 2012 when it was also 2.6%.

Under the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), inflation was down by 0.5 percentage points to 2.2% from 2.7%.
