Post Office and Royal Mail disputes

There are two separate national disputes involving members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU).

One is in the Crown post offices where 4,000 members were taking their 13th round of action with a half day strike on 20 November. This dispute centres on jobs, pay and branch closures.

In addition to the 4,000 members in the Crown post offices, a further 2,000 CWU members in the supply chain were also set to strike as were managers in the Crown offices, who are members of Unite.

The other CWU dispute is at Royal Mail and is over jobs, pay and conditions. Planned strike action was postponed and the validity of the industrial action ballot extended to 27 November while further talks took place.
